Provitamin B5 (panthenol) is known for its restorative, healing, anti-inflammatory, soothing, regenerating actions. Applied locally, panthenol penetrates the epidermis where it is absorbed by the skin cells and transformed into pantothenic acid, this is where it acts on the hydration of the stratum corneum. In addition, it helps to strengthen the hydrolipidic film, and prevent water loss and dehydration.
Hyaluronic acid helps to restore skin hydration levels, skin barrier functions and has a calming effect.
Niacinamide is an enzyme known to improve skin elasticity, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, to reduce redness and pigment spots as well as sebum secretion. Topical application of niacinamide stabilises the skin barrier and improves the moisture content of the stratum corneum. It also plays a role in DNA repair of keratinocytes damaged by UV exposure.
Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid found in large concentrations in citrus fruits, including lemon, orange, and grapefruit.
